    * Description:

    Mi-tuo Township is located at the downstream of A-gong-dian Creek or the estuary. The river stream brings large amount of deposits from upstream and forms an unique sand shore terrain along the sea with the sand by the bank. It has also become an important wetland by the coastline. Besides the coastal fishing villages where used to be a shoal in the ancient time, the rest of the coastal area is historical site of lagoon.

    Mi-tuo Township belongs to the estuary delta wetland and fishery wetland. The wetlands along Old Harbor Estuary (A-gong-dian Creek Estuary) have mostly transformed to fisheries.

    Wetlands are important in their functionality of wild animals preservation and habitation, flood water control, water supply, sea shore protection, poison removal, and water quality purification. The management and preservation of wetlands are not limited to the preservation of the natural ecosystem, but also the improvement on the environment that human kinds are dependent upon.
