Mi-shou Temple, which has about more than 200 years of history, worshiped Mazu in the Main Hall. Holding a plate of fortune with both her hands, Mazu shows a solemn but peaceful smile with pink facial color. The gold body of Mazu was probably re-sculpted in 1973 during the temple's reconstruction. And it is different from the black-faced Mazu placed inside Tainan Grand Mazu Temple.
Mi-shou Temple was established by the Qing Government for salt workers at Lai-nan Salt Field to worship. Because it was set up by the government, it was also called Government Main Hall. Later, Mazu statue was moved inside the village when Mi-tuo Harbor canal was congested, and the Ba-cun Village people took turn to worship every year. Sian-Fong 7 (A.D. 1857) in the Qing Dynasty built a temple west of Fu-de Temple and called it Mi-shou Temple. But the Mi-shou Temple we see today had been renovated in 1975.
