Mi-tuo Mangrove is Gray Mangrove, which belongs to evergreen trees of rhizophoraceae. The tree skin is grayish brown and smooth. The tree leafs grow in pairs and have stems. They are in oval shapes with gradually narrow pointy end and are with a length of 12~15 cm. Mangroves' petal corolla has silky furs with blooming period of 4~6 months. Mangroves' seedlings mature in July~August the next year. The hypocotyl is about 15-25 cm, and the mature hypocotyls have grayish brown color and apparent pores. The main characteristics are the numerous aerial roots grown from the tree trunk and the tips of side branches. Aerial roots separate midway and form prop roots underground. So far one can only find mangroves that are grown along the public gutters by the fisheries.
